Finance Magnates has learned that Axios Capital Limited, a private equity firm, has acquired Traders Group. To facilitate the deal, Ran Cohen, the co-founder and CEO of Traders Group, has sold his share in the firm.
Traders Group has its origins in another, similarly named company - Traders' Education. Cohen founded the company to provide retail FX traders with a source of educational material. Since its founding in 2010, the firm has produced an array of educational books, videos and courses focused on the trading industry.
The firm did not remain as a standalone business. Soon after founding Traders’ Education, he launched STATUS. Developed as a trading platform, this remains one of Traders Group’s main service offerings.
Alongside its platform offering, the firm also offers Marketing services to brokers. The main goal of the service, which is called Traders Marketing, is to enable brokers to use webinars as marketing material.
Axios acquires Traders Group
Axios acquired a part of Traders Group in 2017 and it appears it has now bought out Cohen entirely. The deal will see Traders Group being integrated into the holding company’s existing set of FX solutions providers.
“This is a great leap forward for us,” an Axios’ representative asserted, “with a greater emphasis on the education of traders at Axios. Many of the companies within the group are going to see enhanced opportunities for growth and business development having integrated Traders Group into our team.”
Speaking to Finance Magnates, Cohen said that he would be taking a break from work to spend time with his family and determine his next career move. He added that he would continue to work with the financial commission, a self-regulating body for the FX industry, helping traders that are having problems with their brokers.
