Japanese FX broker Monex is set to update its Trader Platform over the weekend to include new streaming news from the Japan-based provider Minkabu which will be available to clients within the Trading Platform following the scheduled update. This news follows the company just reporting strong trading volumes for February.

The company said it will add the new streaming news service to its iPad and smartphone apps for the Monex Trader platform, as well as the Market Station smartphone platform, in addition to the Monex Trader desktop platform for windows, according to an update on its website earlier today.

The new product is expected to provide nearly 60 technical analysis related updates, as well as nearly the same number of ranking related reports daily, including share buyback related, currency reports, and special quotes, among other data streamed to traders within the platform.

These new updates are all set to be delivered systematically based on time-frame ranges that correlate to market hours or times when the news would be more relevant for traders and as such developments will emerge in real-time, according to a timeline table explained in the company's press release in Japanese.

Also noted was how existing news delivery which included some 15 or more daily updates across specific segments and timeframes were being discontinued as the new Minkabu stream is set to replace the existing solution. The move seems like a win for Minkabu which replaces the existing product, as competition for news delivered via trading platform continues to be important as brokers and their clients look for value when trading. The news follows after Minkabu won a deal announced last November with Reuters to deliver its Sharewise Weekly Report through the Thomson Reuters distribution network.
