After a number of companies have been engaged in the development of native environments within which the MT4 platform can be run on a Mac, Tickmill has just become the latest broker to introduce a similar solution.
Apple’s Mac computer sales have grown 16 percent during the June quarter
The trend has been ongoing for a number of years with companies picking up on the requests of their clients who switch operating systems. The rate of growth of the Apple Mac business has been reciprocal to the declining trend in personal computer sales in recent years.
According to estimates published by research company IDC, Apple’s Mac computer sales have grown 16 percent during the June quarter, to over 5 million Macs. During the same period Windows PC sales have tanked 11.8 percent, according to the same research company IDC.
Despite data showing that Apple’s personal computers hold a 13.5 percent market share globally, this only indicates that there is further room for growth for the Cupertino headquartered tech giant.
As Apple computers become more and more popular among traders, we built a native MT4 Mac application
Commenting on the announcement by Tickmill, the CEO of the company, Sudhanshu Agarwal, said, “As Apple computers become more and more popular among traders, we built a native MT4 Mac application to match the needs of our clients. We are well aware of the high loyalty Mac users have for the OS X environment.”
The solution provided by the company is a straight forward one and doesn't require in depth knowledge of the way the operating system works in order to be installed.
The MT4 version which runs within the MacOS environment is essentially the same as the one running on Windows.
