OANDA, one of the veteran brokerages in the industry, has just announced to its clients a major upgrade to the firm's desktop Trading Platform . The company has taken an unusual step with the inclusion of a powerful charting solution into its Java based fxTrade desktop platform.
OANDA has announced to its clients that the firm is undertaking a major redesign of the desktop platform and has launched a new look which more coherently integrates the company’s Analytics tools which are already publicly available.

Traders have direct dedicated buttons to gain access from within the platform to the company’s news portal MarketPulse, technical analysis tools from AutoChartist and the aforementioned advanced charting module from TradingView.
After years of relying on proprietary technology, the company is integrating a chart solution which has proven itself to be one of the most popular online charting tools. TradingView’s free charts encompassing multiple assets have been gaining popularity over the past year as the company has been actively integrating a variety of widely demanded features.
3D Touch on iOS and Additional Features of the Desktop App
OANDA has also recently updated its mobile trading platform with a major feature, making the brokerage one of the first adopters of the newest feature of Apple's new iPhones introduced last September - 3D Touch. The “peek & pop” gesture which Apple has introduced with the launch of its latest iPhone 6S and 6S Plus has been implemented within the OANDA fxTrade app.
In addition to the desktop charting solution, the company has also updated the terminology it uses within the app to unify the language across different platforms. A new default account summary now includes a graphical display of the trader’s exposure to the market. The platform now also features different “profiles” which help traders to quickly switch between different views.
After removing its “average price” feature, the company has brought it back as a configurable option within the platform. Traders will also gain quick access to a variety of fxLabs tools which the brokerage has devised for its clients.
Clients that use the desktop launcher across Windows, Mac and Linux will have to re-download the platform in order to gain access to the latest batch of features and the new look.
