Prop Firm Match, a prop trading firm comparison platform, has been accused on social media of allegedly triggering affiliate links when visitors click internal features, including firm profiles and promotional code buttons. Several firms announced cutting ties with the platform following the publication. In a recent post, Prop Firm Match said: "This should not have happened. We take full responsibility for it".

An industry insider said that the firms - including Topstep, Apex, Tradeify and Goat Funded - were alarmed after reading the reader's post because Prop Firm Match earns commission on challenges sold through its affiliate link, so firing that link on clicks that weren’t affiliate clicks could get it credited with sales it didn’t send, or with sales another affiliate sent.

London's trading industry is coming home!

Trader Kane (@traderkane) raised the allegations in a video posted on X on Thursday. He said the redirects occurred when visitors clicked these features rather than advertised external links. The original browser tab was reportedly redirected through an affiliate link to the relevant prop firm's website, while the intended page opened in a new tab.

Apex, Tradeify and Topstep Cut Ties

Apex Trader Funding announced on X on Friday (30 October) that it had terminated its affiliate relationship with Prop Firm Match and disabled all associated tracking codes.

Apex said the decision followed a review of referral tracking practices and compliance with its Affiliate Marketing Agreement. It did not specify which practices prompted the termination or whether it found a breach of the agreement.

Tradeify also announced on X that it had ended its relationship with Prop Firm Match after finding, as claimed, that the platform had breached its affiliate terms. The decision also means Prop Firm Match will no longer sponsor the Premier Trading League (PTL).

Topstep has also said it is ending its relationship with Prop Firm Match and so did Goat Funded Trader.

Affiliate Rules Prohibit Forced Tracking

Prop Firm Match's affiliate terms prohibit hidden iframe redirects, forced cookies and other methods of artificially generating referrals. Its website discloses that it earns commissions from prop firm challenge purchases made through its affiliate links and promotional codes.

The alleged redirects have raised questions about how affiliate referrals are attributed and whether the practice complies with the platform's own rules.

Prop Firm Match: "We Respect Any Decisions"

Prop Firm Match published this morning a post about the situation. "Until yesterday, when someone clicked on a firm or a code on our site, a new tab would open the firm’s site through our affiliate link", the company said. "This should not have happened. We take full responsibility for it. We have reached out to each of our partners to review this together and reconcile any inaccuracies. We respect any decisions firms have made based on this".
