The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) ) has warned against a firm called JJ Bauer Asset Management / JJ Bauer Equity Research, which is a Clone of a legitimate firm, authorized for operation in the European Economic Area, the UK included.

The legitimate entity, named Josef Johann Bauer has a reference number of 446164 and is headquartered at Neuriedgasse 4, Eisenstadt, A-7000, Austria, the watchdog also said.
The FCA reminded UK investors that clones employ the tactic of adopting a legitimate company’s name when they cold call potential victims, urging them to be wary if they get contacted by anyone claiming to work for this company.
