Italy’s financial markets regulator, the Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa (CONSOB), today published a warning against a list of financial entities, informing investors that they are not authorised to provide investment services or activities in Italy.

The warning follows a previous update from the regulator concerning several binary options brokers that were similarly not permitted to solicit their services in the country.

CONSOB revealed details about the following Forex and binary options brokerages that are not authorised to provide investment services and business in Italy in any way:

Dc Digital Processing 2 Ltd and Green Galaxy International, operating via the website www.optionbit-it.com.

Markets Capital Ltd, with declared headquarters in the Marshall Islands and in the United Kingdom, operating through the website www.fxmarketscapital.com and the web address www.fxmc.eu.

Ob Fenix, which is not authorised in Italy to offer out-of-office, or to promote or place by means of remote communication, investment services or business in any way, including through the website www.obfenix.com.

Blue Seal Ltd, operating via the website www.vix500.com.

CONSOB regularly updates its warning list to include firms such as today’s latest additions. In this instance, the public has been advised to exercise caution as some of them seem to have deliberately set out to mislead the public with website urls which bear a striking resemblance to some established online brokerages.

Background

As the public authority responsible for regulating the Italian financial markets, CONSOB’s main activity is the protection of the investing public.

In this respect, CONSOB is responsible for ensuring transparency and correct behaviour by financial market participants, disclosure of complete and accurate information to the investing public by listed companies and Compliance with regulations. It also conducts investigations with respect to potential infringements of insider dealing and market manipulation law.
