The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), Hong Kong’s leading securities and financial markets regulator, has issued a warning about Shi Fu Investment (Hongkong) Co Ltd/Shi Fu Jin Rong Capital Ltd which operates online using the url www.sf3688.com, for suspicious website activities, according to a statement issued today.

Suspicious Website

The latest warning follows the addition of a further broker, Wing Fung Financial Group, previously flagged by the SFC for conducting suspicious website activities as reported by Finance Magnates last month.

Shi Fu Investment (Hongkong) Co Ltd/Shi Fu Jin Rong Capital Ltd, which claims to be based in Kowloon, Hong Kong with offices located in the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, Japan and other financial centres around the world, purports to offer trading in stocks and has been included in the SFC's warning list as a suspicious website.

Regulatory Duties

Hong Kong’s financial watchdog helps inform investors by drawing attention to illicit operations and unregulated entities that market participants should abstain from doing business with.

Suspicious website operators often use names similar to legitimate companies to confuse investors as has been demonstrated in this case.

The SFC said that the stated website under which the company operates is not associated in any way with Celestial Capital Limited, Celestial Securities Limited, Celestial Commodities Limited, CASH Asset Management Limited and CASH Wealth Management Limited, all of which are SFC-licensed corporations.

The SFC has also pointed out that the Hong Kong address provided on the website is invalid and has urged investors not to do business with this entity.
