Opera Trading Capital, a propitiatory arm of BNP Paribas, has lost Paolo Nicolosi, the group’s Head of Foreign Exchange (FX) Alpha Proprietary Trading, after less than a year in the role, Finance Magnates has learned.

Mr. Nicolosi served as the Co-Head of London Branch & Head of FX Alpha Proprietary at Opera Trading Capital, having joined the group back in July 2015. Prior to this role he had worked at BNP Paribas’ London-based FX Alpha desk for over three years, dating back to 2012.

In addition, while at BNP, he served as an integral component of its FX options business as its Global Head of G10 FX Options Trading since 2005, part of a decade long tenure with the French lender. Additional stops include Standard Chartered, Commerzbank, and JPMorgan in a number of senior level FX roles.

He has parted ways with Opera Trading Capital to take a new role at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) LP as its Managing Director in its Fixed Income and Currency (FIC) unit, according to a recent Bloomberg report.
