The investment and portfolio management of Coinsquare, Coin Capital Investment Management Inc. (Coincapital), has become the latest exchange-traded fund (ETF) provider on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) on Thursday.
This coincides with the firm launching its first two ETFs - the Coincapital STOXX Blockchain Patents Innovation Index Fund (LDGR) and the Coincapital STOXX B.R.AI.N. Index Fund (THNK) - on the TSX.
LDGR and THNK Are Now Trading on the TSX
Both LDGR and THNK began trading on the TSX following the opening of the market on Thursday. According to the statement released by Coincapital, the ETFs will allow Canadian investors to access emerging technologies from large corporations.
Specifically, LDGR is backed by a proprietary artificial intelligence algorithm that allows it to invest in global equity securities of companies that are investing in the research and development of blockchain technologies.
The second fund, THNK, invests in global equity securities of institutions that work in four sectors - biotechnology, robotics, AI and nanotechnology. In order for the fund to invest in the equity securities, it must meet its key criteria - the company must generate 50 percent of revenues from the B.R.A.I.N sectors.
