OptionsCity Software, a provider of futures and options trading and Analytics solutions, has been selected by Nasdaq as its newest provider of settlement price solutions on its Nasdaq Futures, Inc. (NFX) exchange.

The main instrument that will be utilized on the NFX is its derivatives contracts. As a result of the integration with OptionsCity, its settlement solution will tap into its Metro NOW platform, affording users streamlined pricing and Risk Management analytics.

NFX represents an expansion to Nasdaq’s existing global commodities business, whilst offering energy benchmarks to a multitude of market. Currently, the NFX offers energy futures in oil, gas, and U.S. power, as well as a horizontal clearing model operated by the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC).

According to Magnus Haglind, Vice President and Head of U.S. Commodities at Nasdaq, in a recent statement on the initiative, "As NFX continues to grow, it's important that we further develop our capabilities for establishing accurate settlement prices for options on futures in a timely manner. Utilizing their proven software suite, OptionsCity has quickly been able to provide us with a customized solution that can easily be integrated with our leading exchange platform."

"This initiative is aligned with the OptionsCity vision to leverage its core competencies in pricing and analytics to be the power behind exchanges. With the flexible architecture of Metro NOW, we continue to expand our leadership in the options on futures market," added Dan Rooney, OptionsCity's Vice President of Global Sales, in an accompanying statement.

Back in June, Stellar Trading Systems linked with Nasdaq, introducing its connectivity solutions to NFX. Its latest initiative saw exposure into the US energy markets via the NFX, which will help with its existing product suite, i.e. Stellar spreadMachine, Quantum Server, Market Maker and Aggregator.
