SBI SECURITIES Posts Record Revenues and Income for 2019 Fiscal Year

SBI SECURITIES, the online securities subsidiary of SBI Holdings, Inc., has managed to continue its record performance for the whole of its 2019 fiscal year which ended March 31, 2019.

This Thursday, SBI Holdings, the largest division of the Japan-based financial services syndicate SBI Group, announced the financial results for its securities subsidiary for its fiscal year spanning from April 1, 2018, until March 31, 2019.

According to the statement: “SBI SECURITIES’ consolidated financial results of the fiscal year ended March 31, 2019 (April 1, 2018, to March 31, 2019) achieved historical highs in ‘operating revenue,’ ‘net operating revenue,’ ‘operating income,’ ‘ordinary income’ and ‘profit attributable to owners of the Company.’”

However, although SBI SECURITIES did manage to achieve record results, the growth from the previous financial year is much less than that achieved in the 2018 fiscal year.

SBI SECURITIES Reports 5% Uptick in Operating Revenues

Specifically, operating revenue for the securities company for its 2019 fiscal year was ¥122.5 billion ($1.095 billion). When measuring this against the previous fiscal year, which had operating revenue of ¥116.7 billion, it is higher by 5 percent. However, the 2018 fiscal year achieved a 29 percent year-on-year growth for operating revenue.

Net operating revenue also climbed by 6.9 percent from ¥107 billion in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2018, to ¥114.4 billion in the most recent fiscal year. Operating income also noted a rise of 3.3 percent year-on-year to reach ¥55.3 billion.

For the 12 months ended March 31, 2019, ordinary income was ¥55.4 billion. When comparing this against the previous year, which had an ordinary income of ¥53.8 billion, this is higher by 3 percent. The 2018 fiscal year, on the other hand, recorded an annual growth of 41.7 percent for ordinary income.

Profit before income tax expense increased by 3.4 percent year-on-year, coming in at ¥55.3 billion. Although higher than the 2018 fiscal year, the yearly growth is much less, as 2018 achieved an uptick of 33.5 percent.

From April 2018 until March of this year, the total stock brokerage trading value of SBI SECURITIES was ¥99.2 trillion.
