Hong Kong Exchange Launches New Stock Option Classes, Futures

The Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx) announced that it will be introducing two new stock option classes as well as 34 new stock futures contracts. The option classes and 18 of the stock futures will be active from November 30, and the rest of the futures will be launched on December 7.

The stock option classes include shares of a property company, Cheung Kong Property Holdings Ltd., and Chinese nuclear utility CGN Power Co., Ltd. The contract size for Cheung Kong Property Holdings is 1,000 shares in two board lots, and the size for CGN’s stock is 10,000 shares in 10 lots. The trading tariff per side is HKD 3 ($0.39). The contract months for these contracts are from December this year to March 2016, then June and September 2016.

The exchange has invited applications from Market Makers with regard to the new instruments.
