Horizon Software, an algorithmic and electronic trading technology solution provider, announced on Tuesday that the brokerage arm of Santander Bank Polska became the first Introducing Market Makers on Horizon’s platform for the 'Global Connect' equity market organized by the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE).

Santander Bank Polska and its broking subsidiary Santander Brokerage Poland, established their first partnership with Horizon Software more than three years ago, enabling marketing making in derivatives and equities on the WSE.

After the Warsaw Stock Exchange launched a new equity market called Global Connect, Horizon and Santander Bank Polska are expanding their cooperation. Under Global Connect, stocks from around the world are listed by Introducing Market Makers without issuer approval. As a result, investors gain direct access to securities from different countries directly in Warsaw during local trading session hours. Santander has become the first liquidity provider to join the new market.

“Thanks to the existing Horizon Market Making platform, it was possible for Santander to go live on the new Global Connect market without any additional development on the Front Office side. Existing platform composed of Market Data handlers, Pricing and Quoting automatons, WSE Market Gateway and Position Management modules were fully leveraged for a seamless integration with Global Connect,” Alexandre Chriqui, the Client Success Manager at Horizon Software, said.

Horizon on a Hiring Spree

Horizon Software not only deepens its cooperation with brokers and companies in the investment industry but also with professionals with years of experience. In October, the electronic trading solution provider promoted Francois-Xavier Detourniere to the position of Head of Product Management. Due to the move, Horizon wants to boost its offering in the APAC region.

In March, Horzion announced the appointment of Fabrice Astrologi as Global Head of Client Management, in a move to accelerate the company’s growth. Astrologi served in different senior-level roles and has 25 years of professional experience.

Isabelle Dominjon is another professional that joined the company in 2022. She serves the role of Business Development Manager for EMEA, focusing on accelerating Horizon’s expansion in the region.
