NASDAQ Elects 10 Board Directors to Exchanges in the US

NASDAQ Incorporated, a global technology company serving the capital markets and other industries, has elected 10 directors to its exchanges in the US.

The exchanges include the NASDAQ Stock Market, which allows investors to buy and sell stocks over a computer network; the NASDAQ PHLX, a full-service options trading platform; and the NASDAQ BX, a protected quote featuring a price/time priority market structure and popular trading functionality.

The other exchanges consist of NASDAQ ISE, an all-electronic options exchange; NASDAQ MRX, a platform with a simple customer priority pro-rata allocation market and a price-time complex market; and NASDAQ GEMX, a platform that attracts liquidity and offers price improvement opportunities.

The appointed Board Directors include Kathlyn Beckles, the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at Verisk Analytics, an analytics and risk assessment firm; Tal Cohen, the Executive Vice President (EVP) and Head of North American Markets of NASDAQ Inc.; Michael Curran, the retired Chairman and CEO of Boston Stock Exchange; and Anne Darling, a Partner at Global Markets Division of Goldman Sachs, a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm.

Furthermore, there is David Frear, the former Senior EVP and Chief Finance Officer of SiriusXM Holdings, a broadcasting company; Thomas Kloet, the retired CEO and Executive Director of TMX Group Limited, a Canadian company that operates equities, fixed income, derivatives and energy markets exchanges; Anita Lynch, the former Senior Vice President and Chief Data Officer of New Relic Inc, cloud-based software developer.

Additionally, there is David Rosato, a former Senior EVP and CFO of People’s United Financial, an American bank holding company; Andrew Schultz, the Head of Strategic Options Business at the Susquehanna International Group of Companies, a global quantitative trading firm; and Elizabeth Wideman, the SVP and Senior Deputy General Counsel at Comcast Corporation, a global media and technology company.

NASDAQ’s Recent Moves

Last month, NASDAQ disclosed that it had listed 108 initial public offerings (IPOs) in the first half of this year.

These offerings raised a total of $12 billion.

Furthermore, the stock exchange recently disclosed its plans to acquire Metrio, a privately-held provider of environmental, social and governance (ESG) data collection, analytics and reporting services based in Montreal, Canada.

NASDAQ said it will integrate Metrio’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform into its suite of ESG solutions.
