Hazelcast, a provider of operational in-memory computing, has teamed up with Solace, a provider of open data movement technology, to provide a new joint solution which enables multi-cloud and hybrid cloud replication of Hazelcast clusters for worldwide operation. The solution enables enterprise grade reliability, WAN scale-out and low latency cluster replication.

Hazelcast’s In-Memory Data Grid helps companies, including Capital One, Chicago Board Options Exchange, Deutsche Bank, Ellie Mae, and Mizuho Securities USA, manage their data and distribute processing using in-memory storage and parallel Execution for breakthrough application speed and scale.

Cost and Time Reduction

Hazelcast is deployed in architectures where caching, scalability, performance, data sharing, redundancy and fault tolerance are essential. By combining Solace’s store and forward WAN messaging solution with Hazelcast, organisations can reduce WAN bandwidth costs, minimise data update propagation time and insulate their infrastructure from network or Data Center outages.

The solution is ideal for companies who need real-time data to be current across diverse geographical areas as data values change. These include financial institutions which need to synchronize real-time position books or risk data across global financial centers.

Integration with Hazelcast Nodes

Solace technology enables open data movement by routing information between applications, devices and people across clouds using popular open APIs and protocols, a critical part of modern IT initiatives from accelerating legacy applications and business processes to enabling big data, cloud computing and the Internet of Things.

Solace integration brings true enterprise WAN distribution to Hazelcast.

Earlier this year, the company integrated its solution with online forex broker FxPro to handle a wide range of internal and customer facing applications, as reported by Finance Magnates.

Solace integrates with Hazelcast nodes in an in-memory cluster to provide a distributed and decoupled publish/subscribe backbone that is optimised for efficient WAN synchronization. Solace uses advanced compression, TCP protocol optimization and route optimization to maximize data throughput and minimize latency over the WAN.

Greg Luck, CEO of Hazelcast, commented: “Solace integration brings true enterprise WAN distribution to Hazelcast. The key benefits to customers are high reliability with store-and-forward with low latency to Hazelcast, plus WAN scale out so that we can send an update once to a local endpoint and have it distributed to Hazelcast clusters across the WAN, with no duplication of transmission.”
