Java Deployed: Azul's Zing Becomes Supported by Redline Trading Solutions

Azul Systems has announced that its Zing solution for developing and deployment of Java- based apps has become compliant with Redline Trading Solutions platform. Following the news, Zing becomes supported by Redline, allowing users to use Azul’s services for developing trading strategies in Java. Despite the emergence of other programming languages, demand for Java-based programs in the financial sector remains strong due to its security benefits. However, in terms of software speed, in its native level Java trails other popular languages such as C++. To remedy the need for speed as well as security, applications such as Zing are being created by firms to provide optimized results in specific server and operating system environments to offer enhanced performance. The result is the ability for developers to create their products in Java while realizing low-latency performance even when compared to other languages.

A multi-asset feed aggregator, Redline Trading, markets low-latency trading solutions to customers such as asset managers, Buy-Side traders, hedge funds and high-frequency traders. The Zing solution provides customers the ability to trade with Redline’s platform while developing systems in Java.

Commenting on the Zing support and Java, Mark Skalabrin, CEO of Redline Trading, explained in a public statement, “Increasingly, we are seeing customers that want to gain the benefits of Java application deployment without compromising the ultra-low latency capabilities of Redline Trading’s ticker plant and order Execution gateway. For these low- latency, mission-critical applications, Azul’s Zing minimizes jitter to help ensure the best tick-to-trade latency and determinism.”

Adding a comment, Scott Sellers, Co-Founder and CEO of Azul Systems said “Zing is widely recognized as the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) standard within the low-latency financial sector. By certifying Zing, Redline is enabling its customers to build and deploy Java-based custom trading strategies that are flexible and responsive, while delivering consistent ultra-low latency performance.”
