LCG Deploys Exponential-e's Virtual Private LAN Service

London Capital Group, the leading financial spread betting and Contract for Difference (CFD) provider, has deployed an infrastructure upgrade to support its Business Continuity Planning (BCP) strategy.

The London-based firm, appointed Exponential-e, one of the UK's most innovative technology enablers to design and deploy a Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) network across LCG's core sites.

LCG's share price is trading at 37.00 in London.

The VPLS service connects LCG's London headquarters with its BCP sites in Slough and London, Docklands. The fully diverse resilient routes provide 1Gigabit capacity between the London HQ site.

LCG's decision to upgrade its BCP infrastructure follows similar moves from players in the spread betting, financial trading and gaming industries where latency and uptime are essential requirements for these businesses to run.

LCG's Trading Platform is replicated, data is backed-up and provides rapid recovery in the case of an unexpected outage.

In addition, Exponential-e has deployed a workplace recovery solution for LCG. The uptake of the service guarantees LCG's critical data is constantly backed-up and provides it with brisk access to all information in case of an unexpected outage.

The adoption of the data recovery service also ensures that LCG, a predominantly online business with over 70,000 clients is fully compliant with all necessary international finance sector regulations for data storage and Disaster Recovery.

"We've built a robust, resilient Disaster Recovery solution across our 100GigE core network which is capable of providing this highly dynamic online business with continuous service, even during periods of turbulence and emergency," commented Lee Wade, CEO, Exponential-e. "Our network of data recovery sites demonstrates our determination to deliver strong connectivity and a high level of customer service and LCG's decision to appoint us for this additional service is testament to the quality of our network and the excellent customer service they have experienced in the seven years we have been working together."

Paul Marshall, IT Support & Service Delivery Manager at London Capital Group, concluded: "Our infrastructure needs to be reliable and resilient; ready to provide an uninterrupted, high level of service to our customers at all times. This implementation of Exponential-e's VPLS connectivity service in conjunction with the data recovery service, not only means our business will continue to operate consistently regardless of unexpected challenges, but also that we will continue to meet regulatory requirements. The uptime we now have gives us and our customers the guarantees necessary for an Online Trading business."
