OptionsCity Taps Dan Rooney as Vice President of Global Sales

OptionsCity Software, a provider of electronic trading solutions for professional futures and options traders, has appointed Dan Rooney as its newest Vice President of Global Sales, according to an OptionsCity statement.

In his new role as the Vice President of global sales at OptionsCity, Mr. Rooney will be tasked with leading the company’s global sales force in Chicago, New York, and London. Furthermore, he will be responsible for maintaining and growing the company’s global client base.

Mr. Rooney joins OptionsCity from Eze Software Group, where he served as the managing director of sell-side sales. Prior to this, he was the CEO of RealTick EMS, in addition to other senior level roles.

According to Hazem Dawani, CEO and cofounder of OptionsCity in a recent statement on the appointment, “OptionsCity continues to push the bounds of what professional trading software can achieve, most recently with the launch of our fully modular and customizable Metro NOW. With his experience and track record, Dan will help accelerate OptionsCity’s growth and expansion into new international markets, while solidifying our position as the best choice to trade futures and options on futures.”

“Dan understands what it takes to build and lead a winning team. He has held a diverse set of roles throughout his career, and in each, he demonstrated the ability to build world-class teams and drive results,” he added.

“With Metro NOW, OptionsCity moved to the forefront of innovation in professional trading software development. I am excited for the opportunity to help the company educate the market about Metro NOW’s unique ability to simplify trading, Risk Management and market making,” noted Mr. Rooney in an accompanying statement.

Last month, OptionsCity and Nasdaq reported a new cooperation that aimed to bolster the Exchange ’s global commodity derivatives business. Under the agreement, OptionsCity is recognized as a preferred independent software vendor for the exchange’s Nasdaq Futures (NFX) entity, a US-based designated contract market (DCM).
