SR Labs, LLC, a provider of trading and market data technology for the financial services industry, has rebranded under the new name of Vela Trading Technologies, LLC, helping consolidate its operations and technology capabilities into one cohesive operation, per a recent Vela statement.

Vela Trading, formally SR Labs, is a low-latency feed handler and market data platform provider. The group also caters to a diverse clientele via a comprehensive offering of Technology Deliverability utilities, trading infrastructure capabilities, and delivery mechanisms.

Despite the change in name, Vela will also continue to largely adhere to its same overall strategy, focusing on financial technology solutions and trading infrastructures.

Indeed, according to Jennifer Nayar, CEO of Vela, in a recent statement on the rebranding effort: “We see Vela as a new and exciting opportunity to build on our strong heritage, pedigree and loyal client base and bring the best of both SR Labs and Wombat into one place.”

“With Vela, we want to simplify everything around us: through our technology, we want to simplify how firms interact with the markets, and increase efficiency; and with the creation of a new, integrated business entity, we want to make it easier for clients and prospects to buy from us, to work with us and to partner with us,” she added.

Earlier this year, the group made headlines after it launched a strategic partnership with Quod Financial, which saw the integration of its low latency API.
