OTAS Technologies, a multi-asset Analytics and solutions provider for the financial services industry, has extended its market intelligence and analytics suite to Thomson Reuters Eikon, according to a Thomson Reuters statement.

The extension of OTAS’ capabilities will include its Core Summary utility, which helps provide equity market analytics to portfolio managers and traders with a broader emphasis on risk forecasts for trades. OTAS Microstructure also allows for a wide functionality of market events and market-based movements via its analytics capabilities – both OTAS Core Summary and OTAS Microstructure will now be granted to Eikon users.

The integration is hardly surprising given that OTAS’ apps were engineered using App Studio in Eikon, its third-party app development suite. Ultimately, the combination of Eikon’s news, market data, and analytical suite with OTAS’ data analytics engine will aim to help OTAS’ clients leverage real-time market insight and analysis for trading decisions for equity markets.

According to Tom Doris, CEO of OTAS Technologies, in a recent statement on the integration: “OTAS is continually working to simplify life for our clients while ensuring they have access to the intelligence they need to make better trading decisions. One of the ways we do this is by keeping our platform open and easy to integrate with existing systems. The integration and availability of OTAS market leading intelligence and analytics in Thomson Reuters Eikon is another example of how we are achieving this goal.”

“Promoting openness and collaboration within Eikon is one of the primary reasons we created App Studio, and we’re thrilled that companies like OTAS are seeing the possibilities and creating ways to streamline workflow for our joint customers,” added Albert Lojko, Global Head of Desktop at Thomson Reuters in an accompanying statement.

Back in August, Thomson Reuters added foreign exchange (FX) trading capabilities for corporate treasurers on its flagship desktop offering, Eikon. The company integrated FXall QuickTrade to provide corporate treasury users trading smaller FX volumes with a single solution that consolidated news, data and market analysis with direct access to 140 Liquidity providers.
