Cryptocurrencies have brought tech and finance together in an unprecedented way. But it’s no easy task to learn a new field, let alone break into a new industry, especially one clouded with such intense emotions of excitement, fear, and uncertainty.

So to help provide a solution to this pain point, Phemex is launching a new fellowship program that will give scholarships to Bachelor’s and Master’s students to conduct innovative research on cryptocurrencies and DeFi. By creating a new type of partnership that gives power and voice to young scholars, it will be easier to communicate with and educate the next generation of investors.

Very rarely in traditional finance do you see big firms giving scholarships to students to research new ideas. Therefore, this new initiative by Phemex has the potential to start a new trend in the industry.

What Are The Details?

Students participating in the Phemex Student Foundation program will participate in one-on-one research modules with a Phemex supervisor. In an 8-week time span, they’ll work together to produce a comprehensive paper and case study about a specific topic in cryptocurrency.

Besides producing a research paper, Phemex will host two events to give students a more comprehensive experience.

First, a career path panel with Phemex CEO, Jack Tao. In this virtual panel, students will be able to learn about Jack’s journey into crypto. Students can use this as a networking opportunity and inspiration for their own future careers in Web3.

Second, a crypto/DeFi webinar. In early April, Phemex will host a webinar conference with the theme of current and future trends in cryptocurrency. Phemex will invite two experts to give a presentation and Q&A.

Altogether, doing individual research, networking with industry insiders, and learning from outside experts will provide students with a greater understanding and appreciation for what crypto is.
